Human Resources Coordinator

The Houston Rockets operate the Houston Rockets, Toyota Center, and Houston Comets organizations. The Human Resources Coordinator supports daily HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, employee engagement, and HRIS management while helping provide an exceptional employee experience.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the recruiting process from requisition through onboarding
• Partner with hiring managers to update and maintain job descriptions
• Post positions through recruiting platforms and monitor applicant activity
• Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications
• Conduct candidate pre-screening and assist with interview processes
• Serve as a contact for applicants and hiring managers
• Build and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and community organizations to support internship and recruiting initiatives
• Track recruiting metrics to include time-to-fill and candidate pipeline activity
• Partner with HR Specialist on all onboarding activities for new hires
• Prepare candidate offer letters, onboarding packets, and employee communications
• Assist with new hire orientation and benefits enrollment processes
• Partner with IT and department leaders to ensure equipment, workspace, and system access are established before new employee start date

What they're looking for:

• Knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, and HR compliance
• Experience working with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years of Human Resources experience preferred
• Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, or a fast-paced service environment is preferred
