About this role

Jewish Family Service of Colorado is a nonprofit human services organization serving individuals and families in need. The Human Resources Coordinator supports HR and Compliance operations by maintaining accurate employee data and records, coordinating HR workflows, assisting with onboarding and offboarding, and providing responsive employee service. The role also supports reporting, payroll and benefits coordination, compliance activities, and HR process improvements.

What you'll do:

  • Serves as central point of contact for the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, security, and consistent use for the organization
  • Maintains employee records and coordinates HR workflow processes, including but not limited to job and status changes, compensation updates, and HR form revisions
  • Develops and runs scheduled and ad-hoc reports for analytics, compliance, and leadership needs
  • Recommends and implements process improvements to optimize HRIS functionality and the employee experience
  • Provides back-up support for the HR Generalist position
  • Coordinates with payroll and benefits to ensure accurate pay, deductions, and reinstatement processes
  • Administers background checks and agility tests for new hires
  • Assists with onboarding, offboarding, auditing, open enrollment, and HR projects as needed
  • Maintains accurate personnel files and documentation
  • Supports HR initiatives focused on engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Participates in HR team meetings and contributes to building streamlined, employee-centered processes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain data integrity
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, compliance, and documentation requirements
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
  • Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs
  • Frequently sitting and typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Completion of the primary COVID-19 vaccination series is required prior to the start of employment
  • Preferred bachelor's degree or certification in human resources, a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred experience with HRIS platforms
  • Preferred experience in the nonprofit or human services sector
  • Preferred HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or related coursework
  • Kindly note this position is located in Denver, Colorado. While a hybrid work schedule may be available, it is not a remote position
