About this role
Plumas District Hospital is a healthcare provider serving the Quincy, California community. The Human Resources Coordinator coordinates the HR office and provides front-line administrative support for onboarding, leave administration, employee records, compliance tracking, Employee Health documentation, communications, and HR service workflows.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR visitors, shared-email requests, and HR ticket workflow; answer routine questions and route matters to the appropriate HR team member
- Maintain consistent front-office coverage and a professional, service-oriented environment for employees, applicants, and visitors
- Assure required pre-hire documents are complete and properly retained so candidates and non-employees can be cleared to start
- Create new-hire schedules and communicate orientation, onboarding, and document requirements to new hires, staffing agencies, and other involved parties
- Perform professional reference and employment-verification calls for top applicants to support final hiring decisions

- * Ability to learn and apply federal and California employment requirements, healthcare personnel standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
- * Strong computer aptitude and ability to use HR information systems, document-management systems, spreadsheets, and standard office applications
- * Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English and prepare accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation
- * Service-oriented, respectful approach and ability to work effectively with leaders, employees, applicants, vendors, and the public
- * Ability to handle frequent interruptions, competing deadlines, and sensitive matters calmly and professionally
- * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently with appropriate judgment and follow-through
- * Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records, checklists, deadlines, and follow-up systems
- * Ability to welcome visitors, answer routine questions, communicate clear instructions, and route sensitive or complex matters appropriately
- * Ability to create and maintain Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and paper/electronic packets
- * Previous administrative, clerical, Human Resources, or healthcare-office experience
- * Experience maintaining confidential paper and electronic files and coordinating detail-oriented workflows
