About this role
Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries is a mission-driven organization focused on helping individuals overcome barriers to employment and build greater independence through work. The Human Resources Coordinator supports daily HR operations, employee records and systems, performance management, compliance, separations, employee engagement, and HR projects while providing internal customer service to employees and managers.
What you'll do:
- **HR Operations:** Process employee changes, employment verifications, terminations, drug-testing documentation, badges, uniforms, garnishments, and other employee transactions
- **HR Systems & Records:** Maintain accurate employee information and HR records and help keep our systems, spreadsheets, tracking tools, and HR SharePoint resources current
- **Performance Management:** Help coordinate our annual performance-review process, track completion, communicate deadlines, and maintain documentation
- **Compliance Support:** Assist with OSHA recordkeeping, HR audits, compliance tracking, reporting, and other documentation
- **Employee Separations:** Coordinate exit documentation and exit interviews and help ensure separation processes are completed properly
- **Employee Engagement:** Take a lead role in coordinating HR-sponsored morale, recognition, retention, and employee-engagement activities
- **HR Projects:** Help develop communications, flyers, reports, presentations, tracking tools, and other resources while participating in HR projects and process improvements

- Are highly organized and genuinely enjoy keeping track of details, deadlines, and multiple moving pieces
- Are comfortable working with technology and learning new systems
- Have strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with **ADP Workforce Now, SharePoint, an HRIS, or similar business systems** is a plus
- Communicate professionally and comfortably with employees and managers
- Notice when something doesn't look right and take the initiative to follow up
- Can work independently while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated
- Understand the importance of discretion and **strict confidentiality** in Human Resources
- Enjoy being part of a collaborative team and are willing to jump in when priorities change
- A **high school diploma or equivalent is required**
- An associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field is preferred
