About this role
Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. is a commercial transportation dealership network operating under several truck and trailer dealership brands. The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for human resources and safety functions, including employee lifecycle activities, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, policy administration, workers’ compensation, and safety compliance.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while fully utilizing the software to GTC’s advantage
- Assist with recruiting activities including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and extending job offers
- Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, state leave programs, and ADA accommodation tracking
- Prepare employment verification requests, personnel changes, and other HR documentation
- Track employee training, certifications, and required compliance programs
- Assist with performance review administration and employee recognition initiatives
- Support policy communication and employee engagement activities
- Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures
- Assist with payroll-related documentation and coordination with Payroll as needed
- Generate HR reports and maintain accurate employment records
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Director of Safety
What they're looking for:
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices required
- 1-3 years of experience in Human Resoures, Safety, or a related administrative role
- Experience with HRIS systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Candidates must have excellent research, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills and demonstrate that they can uphold confidentiality
- Candidates must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, handle demanding time constraints and provide timely input with great attention to detail
- Requires sitting, keyboard typing and 10-key, use of telephone and computer monitor, walking, filing and some stairs
- Occasional archiving of documents into boxes and lifting
- Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasional transport of documents between buildings in seasonal weather conditions
- This is a full-time hourly position, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM
- Occasional projects may require flexibility with this schedule
