About this role
Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (Fresno EOC) is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator or Senior Human Resources Coordinator to provide broad HR support across recruitment, employee relations, benefits and leave administration, HRIS, workers’ compensation, safety, and compliance. The role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, handles sensitive HR matters, supports reporting and investigations, and ensures accurate administration of HR policies and processes.
What you'll do:
- Collaborates with HR staff to ensure smooth workflow and communication
- Assists with any of the following: development, implementation, administration, and communication of HR policies, procedures and practices
- Provides information and support to managers and employees in a professional manner
- Researches, compiles, and verifies data for reports, audits, and special projects
- Assists in responding to and resolving employee concerns and issues
- Responds to employee and management inquiries related to benefits, leaves, compensation, recruitment, safety, workers’ compensation, records, policy, and any other HR-related matters
- Provides administrative support with occasional front desk coverage, and form/templates and intranet updates
- Exercises sound judgment in assessing workplace issues and appropriately escalates matters to HR Management based on risk, complexity, and organizational impact
- Works with program management and hiring managers to support recruitment processes such as posting requisitions, scheduling interviews, making job offers and generating offer letters, conducting reference checks, and coordinating start dates
- Collaborates alongside IT and HRIS teams to create initial network accounts and other employer logins
- Hosts and coordinates New Hire Orientation and is responsible for collecting, compiling and appropriately processing and filing new hire documentation (I9s, policy acknowledgement signatures, payroll forms, etc.)
- Responsible for training hiring managers in the hiring process and interviewing protocols

- **EDUCATION****:** **Coordinator:** Associate's degree in Human Resources or a related field required. Additional relevant education, professional HR certification, or directly related work experience may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. **Senior Coordinator:** Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Additional relevant education, professional HR certification, or directly related work experience may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis
- **EXPERIENCE:** **Coordinator**: Minimum of one (1) year Human Resources experience required. A professional HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience. **Senior Coordinator:** Minimum of three (3) years Human Resources experience required. A professional HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience. An advanced HR certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) may substitute for up to two (2) years of required experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software
- Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, time management, analytical capability, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply Federal, State and Local employment laws
- Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position
- Maintain a valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance in compliance with state law, and meet the organization's insurance requirements for operating organization vehicles

- Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
- Specialized certifications (PHR-CA, SHRM California Law Credential, Workplace Investigation, CEBS, OSHA30) desirable
