About this role
CALSTART is a mission-driven industry organization focused on transportation decarbonization and clean air for all. The Human Resources Intern will lead a project aimed at enhancing employee engagement and workplace culture, conducting assessments, and developing sustainable initiatives to improve communication and recognition within the organization.
What you'll do:
- Lead a project focused on enhancing employee engagement, connection, and workplace culture across the organization
- Assess current engagement efforts
- Research best practices
- Develop recommendations for sustainable initiatives that strengthen communication and recognition
- Design employee spotlight and recognition programs
- Explore the feasibility of an internal social platform or communication hub
- Create engaging internal communications
- Recommend strategies to foster collaboration and a stronger sense of community among employees
- Develop a set of sustainable employee engagement resources and recommendations that can be implemented and maintained
- Develop an employee engagement assessment summarizing current practices, employee feedback, and identified opportunities for improvement
- Develop an employee engagement plan with recommendations for enhancing communication, recognition, and employee connection
- Propose an employee spotlight and recognition program, including templates and a communication schedule
What they're looking for:
- Completed at least three years of accredited college/university level coursework in a major of Business Management, Human Resources or Communications
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and task management abilities
- Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced remote work environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in internal and external teams with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Comfortable using technology and willing to learn new digital tools and platforms
- Creative thinker with an interest in employee engagement, workplace culture, and internal communications
- Experience with Canva, or similar design and communication tools is a plus, but not required
