About this role
Hatch is a global company providing technical expertise and practical solutions across mining, energy, and infrastructure. The Human Resources Intern will support the Shared Services group with HR generalist, recruitment, reporting, onboarding, employee support, and HR information system activities from the Pittsburgh office.
What you'll do:
- Support with various HR generalist activities including new hire file creation, new hire onboarding, HR reporting and analytics, HR program and process review
- Support with various recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks and other recruitment duties as required
- Participate in the creation of reports and maintain databases
- Assist with day-to-day employee requests
- Maintain data in HR Information System
- Other duties as assigned

- Perform assignments related to your sector
- Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
- Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
- Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
- Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in human resources or a relevant field
- Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Strong academic record
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Strong MS Office skills with advanced skills in MS Excel
- Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
- Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges
