About this role
Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is part of a 25-year journey toward building a centenary company. They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Human Resources Intern to support their HR team with onboarding, employee data management, compliance, and general administrative activities.
What you'll do:
- Assist with initiating and tracking pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings
- Follow up on pending results, discrepancies, and additional documentation as needed
- Upload and maintain onboarding documents within the talent management system
- Help ensure onboarding activities are completed accurately and on schedule
- Support new hire orientation and other onboarding-related activities
- Enter new hire and employee information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Assist with processing employee updates, including changes to departments, reporting structures, and personal information
- Review employee records for accuracy, completeness, and consistency across HR systems
- Maintain organized electronic employee files and confidential documentation
- Support HR data entry, reporting, and recordkeeping activities
- Assist with reviewing and verifying Form I-9 documentation in accordance with federal requirements
- Help monitor completion of required employee documentation and training
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least one year of Human Resources, administrative, or related business experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, review, and maintain data accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate employee records
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees, managers, recruiters, and HR team members
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn and navigate HR systems, processes, and compliance requirements
- Previous experience supporting audits or reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Familiarity with employment laws, HR regulations, or employee recordkeeping requirements
