About this role
The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their Human Resources team as an HR Intern. This paid internship provides college students and recent graduates with hands-on experience supporting HR operations in a biomedical research and academic environment.
What you'll do:
- Supporting HR administrative functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and records management
- Assisting with special projects designed to improve HR processes, workflows, and overall service to The Wertheim UF Scripps community
- Supporting The Wertheim UF Scripps International Services with immigration-related HR processes as needed
- Collaborating with HR team members to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Researching, compiling, and analyzing HR-related information, data, and inquiries
- Monitoring and triaging incoming HR emails and routing requests to the appropriate team member
What they're looking for:
- Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated within the last twelve months from an accredited college or university degree program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in human resources, higher education, biomedical research administration, or related fields
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR information with professionalism
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management
- Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, higher education administration, research administration, or related fields
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, or other office software
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
