About this role

The Inter-American Development Bank Group is a multilateral development organization that supports economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean. IDB Invest is seeking an undergraduate intern to support capital markets project origination, investment committee materials, debt capital markets research, reporting automation, and data analysis related to sustainable finance programs.

What you'll do:

  • Support to the Division for project origination with the preparation of marketing materials and institutional presentations
  • Assist Investment Officers with the preparation of investment committee material – including support in coordinating with the credit risk management, environmental and social safeguards, legal, mobilization and other internal units
  • Collect and analyze relevant data and news on local and international debt capital markets and sustainable finance (volume, type of issuers, structure, pricing etc.)
  • Help automate recurring reports, portfolio tracking tools, and project-monitoring processes using Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and analysis related to debt capital markets internal programs

What they're looking for:

  • The IDB Group is looking for an active undergraduate student to be hired as an intern under the Consultant modality
  • • Education: An active undergraduate student in areas related to Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, International Development or a related relevant discipline from an accredited University. The graduation date should be after the Internship period
  • • Soft Skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, and excellent time management skills
  • • Key Skills: Learn continuously, collaborate and share knowledge, focus on clients, communicate and influence, innovate and try new things
  • • Citizenship: IDB Invest has no nationality restrictions
  • • Active student: Enrolled in an undergraduate (bachelor's) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period
  • • Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest
  • • First job at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation (“Corporation” also known as “IDB Invest”). In addition, you have not been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce (“CW”), contractor for the Bank or the Corporation, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality
  • • You must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16th to March 15th, 2027. These dates are fixed and cannot be modified
  • • If you are an international student in the U.S.A., your work authorization is through CPT or OPT. Consult your school advisor before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week, many international students are limited to working part-time, depending on their academic standing
  • + For undergraduate students, the second year of school must be completed when applying
  • • Languages: Fluency in English with a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus
