Inmar Intelligence helps leading brands, retailers, and healthcare organizations solve complex challenges through data, technology, and innovation. The Information Security Intern will gain hands-on experience helping protect technology, data, systems, and people from evolving security risks while supporting cybersecurity initiatives and collaborating with technical and business teams.
What you'll do:
- Support initiatives across security operations, vulnerability management, identity and access management, infrastructure security, cloud security, threat detection, or incident response
- Help monitor and analyze security information to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, unusual activity, or areas of risk
- Assist with security investigations, analysis, documentation, and follow-up activities
- Contribute to infrastructure and cloud security initiatives that strengthen and standardize secure technology environments
- Help automate security processes, controls, testing, or configurations to improve consistency and efficiency
- Support threat modeling and detection initiatives by working with technical teams to understand systems, identify potential abuse cases, and determine information needed to detect security events
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and industry practices and communicate relevant findings to the team
- Contribute to governance, risk, compliance, data protection, policy, or security awareness initiatives
- Help document security processes, configurations, requirements, findings, and best practices
- Collaborate with Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, Product, and other teams to help incorporate security into technology and business processes
- Explore opportunities to use automation, AI, and emerging technologies to improve security operations, analysis, detection, and efficiency
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with curiosity about how technology works, how it can be compromised, and how it can be better protected
- Foundational understanding of one or more areas such as networking, operating systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity concepts, or software development
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigating and solving problems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical information and explain findings to others
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
- Curiosity about cybersecurity threats, technologies, and evolving security practices
- Eagerness to learn new tools and concepts and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- This position is not eligible for student visa sponsorship, including F-1 OPT or CPT. Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Coursework, labs, projects, or experience in cybersecurity, network security, cloud security, security operations, digital forensics, risk management, or secure software/infrastructure
- Familiarity with security platforms or tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, vulnerability scanners, or similar technologies
- Experience working with Linux or other operating systems
