About this role
Helix Water District is seeking a talented and dependable Information Systems Analyst I/II to enhance their team. This role focuses on supporting business processes and technology solutions, driving the analysis and optimization of critical business systems, and providing functional support for assigned applications.
What you'll do:
- Drive the analysis, optimization, and support of critical business systems across the district
- Lead business process discovery with stakeholders to understand workflows, data needs, and functional requirements, translating them into clear documentation, specifications, and process maps
- Evaluate and recommend solutions—technical and non-technical—to improve efficiency and support strategic objectives
- Support and participate in software selection, implementation, and testing projects, contributing to system prototyping, quality assurance, and user training
- Provide daily functional support for assigned applications, troubleshooting issues, advising users, and ensuring systems perform reliably under time-sensitive conditions
- Develop reports and queries
- Maintain system and user documentation
- Configure and test enterprise applications including ERP and content management systems
- Design business workflows
- Evaluate new software and hardware solutions
- Collaborate closely with users and IT teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance system functionality, and ensure business processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with organizational needs
- Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with users, and partnering closely with IT and business teams to deliver effective, reliable solutions
What they're looking for:
- Training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with major course work in management information systems, computer science, or a closely related field
- Two years of increasingly responsible professional business systems analysis or applications support experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- A valid Class C California driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the district's vehicle insurance policy
- For Information Systems Analyst II, a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis and application development or support, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Project management certifications such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) are highly desirable
