Information Systems Manager - Alaska Center for Energy and Power

Lead the research cyberinfrastructure behind applied energy research across Alaska. Lead the team that builds and supports the cyberinfrastructure behind Alaska Center for Energy and Power’s (ACEP) energy research. You will manage DevOps and data engineers, translate research and grant objectives into technical solutions, and make decisions about how those systems are secured, integrated, and sustained. Strong networking and cybersecurity foundations are essential. To thrive in this role, you bring a strong technical foundation in DevOps, networking, infrastructure-as-code, and cybersecurity, along with an interest in mentoring and developing technical staff. You will work day-to-day with DevOps and data engineers, researchers, and university IT, and translate research and grant objectives into technical priorities. You will lead a technical team and advise ACEP leadership on cyberinfrastructure needs, investments, and direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field) and 5 years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yedda campus in Fairbanks, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
