Information Technology Intern- Summer 2027

Meijer is a family-owned company serving people and communities through its retail business. The Information Technology Intern will gain hands-on experience delivering innovative solutions across digital applications, enterprise systems, architecture, information security, and IT operations and infrastructure.

What you'll do:

• Interns work with current technologies to design, code, test, and ship applications for digital shopping, Pharmacy, Finance, Merchandising, and Supply Chain, as well as our enterprise and retail store systems
• Interns also contribute to business analytics and reporting work
• Interns work on configuration, integration, and process improvement for systems thousands of team members rely on daily
• Interns get a rare cross-company view of how technology decisions are made and sequenced
• Interns have the opportunity to work with cloud technologies and with automation and machine learning approaches used for issue detection and self-healing

What they're looking for:

• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Customer focused — dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers
• Relationship skills — builds positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external partners
• Communication skills — explains technical work clearly, in writing and verbally, including to non-technical audiences
• Microsoft technologies and tools including Azure, .NET / C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint
• Java, Python, or TypeScript / JavaScript
• REST and GraphQL APIs
• Modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Familiarity with common design patterns such as MVC or MVVM
• Mobile development — native iOS (Swift), native Android (Kotlin), or cross-platform
• Enterprise platforms such as SAP and Workday
• Cloud-native development concepts: containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
