Information Technology Programmer Analyst P11 - IT Business Analyst

The State of Michigan's Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports state agency operations through information technology and other centralized services. This position serves as a business analyst supporting the Michigan Department of Transportation by analyzing business processes, managing requirements, supporting user acceptance testing, creating documentation, and assisting with system implementation support.

What you'll do:

• Analyzing complex business processes
• Developing detailed business process flows
• Gathering and management of business requirements
• Facilitating requirements gathering sessions
• Trace and validate requirements
• Assist in system user acceptance testing
• User documentation creation
• Participate in the pre- and post-system implementation support as needed

What they're looking for:

• Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics
• Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement
• Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement
• Certain positions may require certification in specific information technology programs
• This position is located in Lansing, MI
• This position may work a hybrid (remote/office) schedule with 2 days required in the office per week
• Selected candidates who have been approved to work a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan
• A bachelor's degree or higher with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics
• An associate's degree or higher with at least 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics; and at least 2 years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or at least two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant
• At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school, and at least 4 years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or at least four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant
• In accordance with federal law, all new employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment

• This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees.
