Job Description and Duties
Effective July 1, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit R01, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.
This position is in the Information Technology Services Division, which deploys the information technology infrastructure and clinical information technology systems that enable the Department’s clinical staff to provide a constitutional level of access to care for our patients. Information technology support ensures California Correctional Health Care Services operates seamlessly, delivering consistent, cost-effective, reliable, accessible and secure services that support clinical and administrative programs; customers, including the patients, and business communities.

Working Conditions
About the location – Headquarters, Elk Grove.
Located less than 30 minutes from Sacramento and Lodi, the progressive city of Elk Grove offers a great mix of newly developed housing, business projects, and recreational opportunities. You will enjoy working at our campus-style office complex with free parking, and perhaps even call Elk Grove home.
The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of: Cisco Enterprise products including switches, routers, intrusion detection appliances, firewalls, wireless LAN controllers and access points; Zero Trust Network security providers including Netskope and Illumio. IT systems (software) Operating Systems and (hardware) equipment; recognize its capabilities and interfaces between software and hardware.
Ability to: Write complex programs; develop detailed program specifications; analyze data and situations, reason logically and creatively, identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions; apply creative thinking in the design and development of methods of processing information with information technology systems; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; communicate effectively; prepare effective reports; coordinate the activities of technical personnel; prioritize work and execute on critical tasks, perform effectively under pressure and lead by example and respect of others. Work with California Department of Technology (CDT) to address any hardware device IP/ cabling and/or equipment installation, updates and/or failures as needed. Maintain/Update existing Hardware Device and Software installation/configuration Detailed Design Deliverables.
