Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Project Management Office Manager, the Information Technology Supervisor II serves as the Virtual Conferencing Technology Expert and working supervisor for enterprise audio-visual, digital collaboration, and Help Desk support services. The incumbent plans, organizes, and directs technical staff responsible for configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting virtual conferencing infrastructure, workplace communication technologies, end-user devices, and service desk systems. This position also oversees help desk operations, including ticket triage, incident response, service request fulfillment, escalation management, and customer service standards. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert for high-level technical issues, vendor coordination, secure system operations, and support for internal business needs and public agency proceedings. The position also manages technology implementation projects and promotes effective communication, collaboration, customer engagement, digital fluency, inclusion, innovation, and resilience.

Working Conditions
This position is headquartered in Sacramento, CA. The incumbent will be required to report to the assigned headquarter in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy.
CalEPA positions may be eligible for hybrid telework schedules with in-person attendance based on operational needs under Government Code 14200 for applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria outlined in the CalEPA Telework Policy and/or future program requirements. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the designated headquarter location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.
Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay. Please note additional conditions below:

Desirable Qualifications
- Supervisory experience leading technical support teams, including help desk, audio-visual, virtual conferencing, desktop support, or digital collaboration staff.
- Experience supporting enterprise audio-visual and virtual conferencing technologies, including meeting room hardware, video conferencing platforms, microphones, cameras, displays, and integrated collaboration systems.
- Proficient with managing live events with large audiences and senior executives
- Experience managing help desk operations, including ticket triage, incident response, service request fulfillment, escalation management, and customer service standards.
- Experience planning and implementing technology projects, such as AV upgrades, collaboration platform deployments, cloud based video solutions, service desk improvements, or digital workplace initiatives.
- Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills, with the ability to support high-visibility meetings, coordinate with vendors and technical teams, and communicate effectively under pressure with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience developing or maintaing process documentation
- Experience setting team goals or Service Level Agreements to build a high-performing, customer-first culture
- Experience with ticketing systems, like ServiceNow
