We are searching for a 2nd shift Ink Technician to join our team!
The Ink Technician generates ink formulas and mixes inks in accordance to customer and production needs based on departmental procedures. This position approves colors according to customer requirements. The Ink Technician trouble shoots ink issues in the ink and screening departments and develops colors as needed.
- Reviews work orders for accuracy and on-hand inventory; conducts calculations and determines if additional supplies will be needed.
- Mixes ink according to a specified formula.
- Performs color checks against approved masters using prescribed methods to achieve customer specifications.
- Operates departmental equipment and completes forms, charts and guides according to department work instructions.
- Determines color formulation to produce color samples that represent the customers’ specifications and expectations.
- Screens samples using hand table or screen printing press.
Must haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with ink and printing related test equipment preferred
- Experience in matching inks, doing drawdowns and weighing batches preferred.
Skills and abilities crucial to success in this role:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and decision making skills.
- Ability to work with computers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units using fractions and decimals, as well as the ability to understand and compute ratios and percentages.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently without continued support from others
