About this role
About the Department
- Enters, modifies and deletes, as is necessary, all wanted, holds and notifies in automated and manual records.
- Contact solicitors, judges, clerks of court, sheriff's department, magistrates and other law enforcement agencies to research, clarify and obtain information on detainers.
- Process institutional copies of detainer documents to ensure documentation is provided to the institutions.
- Research and responds to correspondence and phone calls from SCDC personnel, other law enforcement agencies, attorneys and inmate relatives.
- Processes detainers from the U.S. Marshall's Services, and immigration customs enforcement.
- Provides training to records personnel and classification caseworkers on detainer related issues.
- Good time management skills and filing abilities required.
- Performs other related job duties as required.

Position Duties
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience;
OR
- A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for experience.
- Must have experience in the use of a computer.
