Position Description
Wake Tech Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time, temporary faculty to teach in various courses in the Community and Career Education Division.
Courses taught in this department include a wide variety of personal interest and community enrichment topics. Subject matter may include but is not limited to the following: public speaking, writing, photography, dog grooming, investing, floral design, gardening, real estate, auctioneering, translation/interpreting, and arts and crafts such as painting, drawing, and crocheting.

Openings in various areas may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.
*Prepares instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
*Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
*Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
*Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
Uses formative and simulative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in instructional discussions
Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Supports the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requesting data in a timely manner
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors and staff
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Requirements:
