Intelligence Analyst / Linguisitics Specialist

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Intelligence Analyst to support intelligence gathering, linguistics, and targeting support activities at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role will be responsible for providing specialized support across very stakeholder groups with a focus on highly advanced language skills in multiple international languages and dialects. This position will sit on site at DHS and include regular travel within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

• Support intelligence gathering, linguistics, and targeting activities for stakeholders across multiple DHS components.
• Provide highly advanced language skills in languages including Fari, Dari, and Pashto.
• Connects pieces of information that are available from different sources like field agents and form reliable reports on anti-terrorism and national security to deal with potential threats.
• Assesses the believability of the information from the reliable sources, collects it and validates intelligence to protect the nation.
• Create project deliverables, including artifacts to ensure adherence to team compliance and quality standards.
• Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
• Verify data and information and analyze it to suit the direction of a project.
• Leverage advanced writing skills to translate complicated issues from multiple information sources into a clear point of view to create a compelling, concise, and well-written narrative.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (or commensurate experience) 
• 12+ years of professional experience
• 10+ years of counterterrorism or security related work experience
• High proficiency in Pashto, Dari and Farsi languages

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Language proficiency in Urdu and Hindi
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in an extremely fast-paced environment.
