Intern, Accounting

The New York Islanders Hockey Club is a professional sports franchise seeking an Accounting Intern to support accounting and finance functions from September to December 2025. The role involves balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, financial data analysis, administrative support, and preparation for monthly and annual financial reporting across multiple entities.

What you'll do:

• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Analyze financial data with attention to detail
• Research budget and forecasting data
• Verify the accuracy of journal entries and financial documentation
• Provide administrative support, including data entry and document filing
• Handle sensitive financial information with discretion
• Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn

What they're looking for:

• No prior accounting experience is required, but you must be proficient with basic computer programs and ready to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college program studying Accounting and/or Finance
• Awareness of and interest in the latest accounting guidance, pronouncements and emerging trends shaping professional sports
• Excellent writing and research skills
• Microsoft Office skills
• You will be in the office 1-2 days per week
