Intern - Accounting & Finance

CRH, through The Shelly Company, is a vertically integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready mix concrete, and paving services in Ohio. The Accounting and Finance Intern will gain experience across accounting operations, providing clerical support, assisting with data entry, month-end closings, reconciliations, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

What you'll do:

• Working with company staff to determine solutions to common issues
• Provide clerical support and assist staff with data entry, month-end closings, and reconciliations
• Learn and assist with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

What they're looking for:

• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
• Understanding knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Must have a strong desire to learn
• Working towards a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting from a college or technical school
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
