Intern

Intuitive Machines is a space company making cislunar space accessible to public and private customers. The Intern will create robot simulations for contact tasks, design experiments to validate and improve those simulations, and develop methods for rapid robot controller tuning.

What you'll do:

• Creating robot simulations for contact tasks based on mathematical modeling
• Designing experiments and analyze data to validate/improve robot simulations
• Developing methodologies for quick-turn-around robot controller tuning

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled as a rising senior (entering final year) in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Software, or related discipline)
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for NASA contractor site access)
• Must be available to work on-site in Greenbelt, Maryland for the duration of the internship
• Experience with programming (MATLAB preferred; Simulink/Simscape is a bonus)
• Experience with experimental data collection and analysis
• Understanding of robotics/kinematics
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, work independently, and take initiative
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision
