Intern

Summit Polymers is a global supplier of automotive interior systems. The Engineering Intern assists project engineering with the development and design of product components, including prototyping, testing, inspection, documentation, and dimensional verification.

What you'll do:

• Build prototype and pre-production parts
• Assist Project Engineers in sample tooling
• Assist Project Engineers as assigned
• Participate in Product Development Team (PDT) meetings
• Mock up existing parts to simulate potential changes or new products
• Mock up testing and analysis to determine if proposed changes are effective
• Inspection and documentation of incoming and outgoing product
• Inventory of engineering samples at build area and tracking of defective product
• Assist in in part dimensional verification (SDS)
• Other duties as assigned by manager

• Enrollment in an Engineering degree program
• Possess the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices
• Follow work instructions from engineering team
• Travel of this position up to 5%
