About this role
GM Financial is a captive auto finance provider offering retail financing, leasing, and commercial lending solutions. The Business Systems Analyst Intern supports business process analysis and operational efficiency initiatives by evaluating requirements and workflows, maintaining documentation, preparing data-driven reports, and supporting end users and special projects.
What you'll do:
- Assist in development and implementing business strategies to improve operational processing and productivity
- Help analyze process for the business and/or user requirements
- Provide support for users by writing and maintaining system documentation, constructing workflow charts and diagrams, providing user support and training
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Contribute to team effort by completing special projects as needed

- Strong written and verbal communication skills required, this incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (including Excel, Word and Access)
- Detail oriented
- Must be able to commit to work 40 hours for 11 consecutive weeks during the summer (May 26, 2027-August 6,2027)
- Must participate in all GMF sponsored events for interns
- Must adapt to a Hybrid Work Model
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
