About this role
Domtar is a producer of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue, and wood products. The Ashdown Mill is seeking engineering students for an intern/co-op program to contribute to projects involving production, reliability, safety, quality, sustainability, and operational performance. Interns/co-ops will analyze data, support engineering projects, collaborate with technical teams, and present project findings.
What you'll do:
- Contribute to projects that improve production, reliability, safety, quality, sustainability, and operational performance
- Analyze operational data, production costs, and process performance to identify improvement opportunities and develop recommendations
- Support engineering projects from concept through implementation, including design, estimating, drafting, documentation, and field execution
- Assist with process optimization, troubleshooting, quality improvements, and reliability initiatives
- Collaborate with engineers, operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to solve technical challenges and support project execution
- Research, develop, and document processes, standards, and procedures for operational improvements
- Present project findings and recommendations to mill teams
- Gain hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing systems, instrumentation, maintenance activities, and capital projects

- Sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

- Enjoys solving technical and operational problems

- Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher
