About this role
The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a college student for a summer internship with its Compliance and Ethics team. The Compliance Data Analyst Intern will support compliance functions through reporting, data analysis, process automation, tool development, and special projects, culminating in a presentation to management and leadership.
What you'll do:
- Provide a wide range of support on various compliance-related functions in partnership with various members of the Compliance and Ethics team
- Leverage visualization tools to prepare reports for Compliance leadership and various internal departments
- Participate in special projects as requested
- Design and implement solutions to move manual processes to automated and repeatable Compliance processes
- Provide timely and accurate analytical support to the team, ensuring results are validated and accurate
- Participate in the development of innovative solutions to use existing information to its fullest potential
- Assist in developing tools, processes, and reporting analytics in support of business growth and needs
- Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer

- Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
- Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- 0-2 years of professional working experience
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize while remaining focused and organized
- Curiosity and willingness to learn a variety of different functions and projects
- Understanding of commonly employed techniques for quantitative analysis
- Ability to work independently with guidance and direction as appropriate
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiar with database concepts
- Basic understanding and usage of Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Suite
- Basic level of programming in any of the following: SAS, SQL, VBA, R, PYTHON or JAVA
