Intern, Cybersecurity

Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle company developing electric vehicle platforms for medium-duty vehicles and hybrids. The Cybersecurity Intern will support the protection of enterprise IT systems, product development environments, and operational technology by monitoring threats, assisting with incident response, documenting security processes, and improving security workflows.

What you'll do:

• Monitor and respond to email security threats, including phishing, malware, and spam
• Monitor, analyze, and triage endpoint security detections using EDR and related tools
• Assist with incident investigation and escalation following established security procedures
• Document, maintain, and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical security processes
• Support continuous improvement of security monitoring, detection, and response workflows
• Collaborate with IT and Security teams to strengthen overall security posture

What they're looking for:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology
• Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly document technical processes and findings
• Networking Fundamentals
• Exposure to vulnerability research, scanning, or remediation processes
• Basic scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
• Understanding of the CIA triad
• Familiarity with common security tools (SIEM, EDR, etc.)
• Interest in compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, SAE 21434, TISAX
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, CC) are a plus

• A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA.
• This role requires a commitment of 4 days in-office per week at our facility in Garden Grove, CA.
• Full-time hours (40 hours a week).
