Harbinger: Familiar Form, Revolutionary Foundation. ## Job Overview - Location: This role requires a commitment of 4-5 days in-office per week at the facility in Garden Grove, CA, as well as full-time hours (40 hours a week). - Duration: 8 weeks for quarter or 15 weeks for semester (January 11 to April 30 or January 11 to March 12). - Relocation Support: A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns currently residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove, CA. - Compensation: $25-$35 USD per hour. ## Job Summary Harbinger is seeking an ambitious Cybersecurity Intern to support the protection of its enterprise IT systems, product development environments, and operational technology. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world security operations in a fast-growing automotive and manufacturing environment. The primary responsibilities are to contribute to and learn about securing an enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to build valuable experience at a fast-paced, high-growth startup during a critical early product stage. ## What You'll Do - Monitor and respond to email security threats, including phishing, malware, and spam. - Monitor, analyze, and triage endpoint security detections using EDR and related tools. - Assist with incident investigation and escalation following established security procedures. - Document, maintain, and help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical security processes. - Support continuous improvement of security monitoring, detection, and response workflows. - Collaborate with IT and Security teams to strengthen overall security posture. ## Required Skills - Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology. - Work authorized in the United States or able to obtain a J-1/F-1 visa. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to clearly document technical processes and findings. ## Desired Skills - Networking fundamentals. - Exposure to vulnerability research, scanning, or remediation processes. - Basic scripting experience, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. - Understanding of the CIA triad. - Familiarity with common security tools, including SIEM and EDR. - Interest in compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SAE 21434, and TISAX. - Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, or CC are a plus. ## Equal Opportunity Harbinger is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
