## Responsibilities
- Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop, test, and enhance SSD firmware features and functionality.
- Debug and resolve firmware issues to improve product performance, reliability, and quality.
- Create and complete test plans to validate firmware behavior and support product qualification efforts.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in software quality and development processes.
- Use AI-enabled tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, automate tasks, and accelerate firmware development.
## Minimum Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research, coursework, academic projects, or software/firmware development experience.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and returning to school following the internship.
- Experience programming in C/C++ through coursework, projects, internships, or research activities.
- Basic understanding of embedded systems, computer architecture, operating systems, or firmware development concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op, research, or project experience in firmware, embedded software, or systems engineering.
- Familiarity with SSD technology, storage systems, NAND flash memory, or storage protocols.
- Experience using software development tools such as Git, JIRA, or similar version control and project management platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for automation, testing, or data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet project deadlines, and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
