Intern - Data Engineering

Hussmann Corporation provides commercial refrigeration equipment and connected solutions for the food retailing industry. The Data Engineering Intern will gain experience working with large datasets, developing data infrastructure, and supporting data-driven decision-making through data validation and collaboration on technical projects.

What you'll do:

• Clean and validate data sets to ensure accuracy for downstream analytics teams
• Collaborate with the team using Git to manage code and track project updates
• Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization
• Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality
• Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events
• Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, specifically core AWS services
• Good foundational knowledge of SQL and basic programming skills in Python
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Highly analytical, proactive problem solver, and eager to learn complex data architectures
• Ability to relocate, if not local
