Intern | Data Science

Great West Casualty Company is seeking a Data Science Intern to gain hands-on experience applying data science and analytics techniques in a business environment. The role supports data collection and analysis, reporting and visualization, predictive modeling, machine learning initiatives, data quality, and the communication of insights for strategic business decisions.

What you'll do:

• Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets from multiple sources
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key business insights
• Support predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning initiatives
• Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within data to support decision-making
• Collaborate with business partners to understand data needs and provide analytical solutions
• Assist in validating data quality and improving data integrity processes
• Present findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholders
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for working with data
• Knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis techniques
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience with SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R preferred
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms is a plus
