Intern - Electrical Engineer

Great Plains Manufacturing, a Kubota Company, is seeking Electrical Engineer Interns for its 2027 Summer Internship Program. The role involves completing a mentored project related to the electrical engineering design process for agricultural equipment while working full-time on-site with engineers and production team members.

What you'll do:

• Our Electrical Engineer Interns will be assigned to one of our facilities in the Salina, KS area and work on a project in Electrical Engineering as it relates to the design process of agricultural equipment
• Each of our Summer Interns complete a project with a mentor and supportive peers, allowing them to apply their college knowledge in the workplace and gain practical work experience
• Ability to work closely with other engineers as well as team members on the production floor

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Ag Systems or other relevant Engineering major
• Willingness to live within commuting distance of the assigned location, typically in the Salina, KS or Abilene, KS area for the duration of the Summer
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week) during the Summer
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to the Salina, KS area and commute to and from work and activities throughout the Summer
• Completed at least 30 credit hours by beginning of internship
• Self-motivated with good project management, organization and planning skills
• Ability to communicate plans and information in a concise, effective manner in both verbal and written forms
• Exhibit a willingness to learn
• Critical thinking skills and a positive approach to solving problems
• Team player mindset and outstanding interpersonal skills
• Ability to work closely with other engineers as well as team members on the production floor
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc

Benefits:

• Housing is provided in Salina, KS for interns who currently reside outside the area.
• Engineering interns enjoy a 4-day work week with a work schedule of Monday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Each of our Summer Interns complete a project with a mentor and supportive peers, allowing them to apply their college knowledge in the workplace and gain practical work experience.
• We also organize activities during the summer to give you the opportunity to get to know other interns and Great Plains employees through casual events like laser tag, paintball, bowling, and community events.
• Housing will be provided within a 20-mile radius of your assigned location, if needed.
