About this role
North Atlantic Industries provides rugged embedded electronic solutions for military, aerospace, and industrial markets. The Intern – Electrical Engineer (Power) will support the design, fabrication, testing, and evaluation of power-related electronic products and prototypes while contributing to product development and production support.
What you'll do:
- Build and evaluate prototype circuitry under engineering guidance
- Develop, review, modify, and validate C and assembly code for DSP controllers
- Test and debug electronic hardware to the component level
- Develop test procedures and document engineering evaluations of products and requirements
- Support investigation and resolution of design issues affecting production hardware
- Create and maintain schematics using engineering design tools
- Support programming, automated testing, and technical reporting activities for power-related products
What they're looking for:
- Pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical circuits, schematic capture, and power-supply fundamentals
- Demonstrate proficiency with standard Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Communicate effectively and apply analytical problem-solving skills
- Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status
- Monday to Friday, Day Shift
- Full-time schedules for Summer internships
- Possess coursework, project, or internship experience related to power supply design or embedded electronics
- Demonstrate familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other engineering test equipment
- Demonstrate exposure to programming languages such as C or C++
- Demonstrate curiosity and a strong interest in electronic product development
