Intern- Electrical Engineer (Summer 2027)

BAYSTAR is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support electrical product design and engineering activities as part of a cross-functional team. The intern will review drawings, solve engineering problems, support continuous improvement, manage small projects, and participate in equipment quality assurance and commissioning at a chemical processing facility.

What you'll do:

• Review drawings to ensure manufacturability, compatibility with existing systems, and functionality
• Analyze and solve a range of engineering problems
• Contribute to continuous improvement by offering suggestions for long-term solutions to minimize costs, improve reliability, and improve loss control performance
• Understand, support, and comply with all plant safety policies and procedures
• Function as part of a team and use electrical engineering knowledge to help the site
• Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed
• Ability to manage and execute small projects as assigned
• Participate in quality assurance and commissioning of new equipment as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Follow safety requirements for the role
• Wear required PPE (eye protection, noise protection, etc.) when inside plant environment, or where directed by signage
• Lift up to 10 pounds

What they're looking for:

• Current Standing as a Junior or Senior student actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering (or related) Undergraduate Program
• Minimum 3.0 GPA required (submit unofficial transcript)
• Strong technical, writing, problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work tasks through completion
• Detailed oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
• Position is in a chemical processing facility and may require working different shifts
