Intern Engineer - (Co-Op)

General Dynamics Mission Systems develops high-technology solutions for defense and scientific missions. The Engineering Intern will support the Smart Munitions team by contributing to the design, analysis, development, integration, testing, and verification of software components for complex GPS and navigation systems.

What you'll do:

• Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country
• The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission
• As a software engineer intern for the Smart Munitions team within Advanced Electronics Systems that is part of the Land and Air Systems LOB, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for system design and analysis of software components responsible for the realization of complex GPS and Navigation systems
• You’ll contribute to CONOPS, requirements definition, software modeling, analysis, design, integration, test, and verification of these systems
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

What they're looking for:

• Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology
• Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher
• Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
• Clear understanding of the software engineering concepts, principles, theories, software development process, and agile methodology
• Clear understanding of the software development process, with agile experience
• Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
• Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success
• Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
