Intern (Fall) - Data, Strategy & Innovation

The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management is seeking a Data, Strategy & Innovation Intern to support digital transformation and organizational modernization initiatives. The role assists with the Oracle OPAL permitting platform rollout, systems portfolio development, workflow documentation, project coordination, and operational improvements.

What you'll do:

• Assist the team in coordinating tasks related to the implementation and rollout of Oracle OPAL for permitting processes
• Support documentation of workflows, user requirements, and implementation milestones
• Help track deployment progress, meeting notes, and action items
• Assist with organizing training materials and user adoption resources
• Conduct research and documentation of existing internal systems, applications, and tools used across departments
• Help build and maintain a centralized portfolio or inventory of organizational systems
• Assist in identifying potential redundancies, overlaps, and gaps across platforms
• Contribute to visualizations, summaries, or reports that help the team understand the current technology landscape
• Support scheduling, coordination, and documentation for project meetings and stakeholder sessions
• Help track deliverables and assist with project management tasks
• Organize materials, data, and documentation related to innovation initiatives

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline for the department in which person is an intern (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis)
• Pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor's or Graduate's degree in one of the Majors listed below:
