Intern, Financial Services Tax - Summer 2027

Alvarez & Marsal is a global consulting firm seeking an Intern, Financial Services Tax for Summer 2027. The intern will support tax compliance, research, analysis, planning, consulting projects, client communications, deliverable preparation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary Tax teams serving financial services clients.

What you'll do:

• Work on Asset Management, Banking, Insurance, Real Estate and FinTech clients
• Assist with the tax compliance process for quarterly estimated extensions payments and annual compliance filings for pass through and corporate entities
• Assist in research and analysis of a wide variety of tax issues
• Participate in potential tax-planning and consulting projects
• Attend client calls to understand critical areas of importance
• Assist with creating deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the client
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines
• Seek out opportunities to understand others’ experiences, perspectives, and differences
• Build internal relationships with other members of the Tax team

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Tax
• Plans to pursue a CPA
• High motivation to learn and grow
• Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future. A&M will not sponsor applicants for US work visa status for this role
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, preferred. (with an emphasis on Excel)
