Intern - Fresh Category

Food Lion is a supermarket organization committed to associate development and meaningful career opportunities. The Intern - Fresh Category will participate in an 11-week summer internship, gaining hands-on experience through projects in strategy and innovation, analytics, consumer insights, and business development while developing knowledge of category management and retail strategy.

What you'll do:

• Projects may fall under any of the following areas: Strategy & Innovation, Analytics, Consumer Insights, and Business development
• Fully understand the Food Lion strategy of Easy, Fresh, and Affordable. You Can Count on Food Lion Every Day
• Understand the concept of a selling organization, and the role that Category Management plays in bringing our strategy to life in our stores
• Become fully versed in Category Management
• Fundamental Understanding of the 4 P's, and how we execute them to deliver our overall company strategy

What they're looking for:

• Minimum GPA 3.0 is required
• Permanent employment authorization/ US citizenship
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program when applying
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Self-Motivated
• Team-oriented thinking
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Good judgment solving problems and making decisions
• Ability to take initiative and ask questions, learn quickly, and strive for results
