Intern - Human Resources

Food Lion is a supermarket organization committed to associate development and meaningful career opportunities. The Human Resources Intern will participate in an 11-week paid summer internship, completing hands-on projects in areas such as Human Resources, strategy and innovation, analytics, and process improvement/automation while developing leadership and business knowledge.

What you'll do:

• Projects may fall under any of the following areas: Human Resources, Strategy & Innovation, Analytics, Process Improvement/Automation
• Fully understand the Food Lion strategy of Easy, Fresh, and Affordable. You Can Count on Food Lion Every Day
• Understand the concept of a selling organization, and the role that Human Resource plays in bringing our strategy to life in our stores
• Become fully versed in Associate Relations
• Fundamental Understanding of the 4 P's, and how we execute them to deliver our overall company strategy

What they're looking for:

• Minimum GPA 3.0 is required ***All applicants are expected to provide a copy of their transcript with their resume showing they meet this requirement***
• Permanent employment authorization/ US citizenship
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or master's program when applying
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Self-Motivated
• Team-oriented thinking
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Good judgment solving problems and making decisions
• Ability to take initiative and ask questions, learn quickly, and strive for results
