Intern - Human Resources, Mt. Vernon, IN - Summer 2027

BWXT is a U.S.-based company that provides nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, environmental restoration, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. The Human Resources Intern will support People Operations, Talent Management, and HR Business Partner workflows through projects involving compensation, process improvements, employee feedback, HR documentation, records management, and seasonal initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Assist with various HR projects focused on FLSA classification and compensation
• Research, provide recommendations, and support process improvements to transition HR paper processes to electronic formats
• Help administer and analyze employee feedback (engagement, onboarding, pulse, and exit interviews)
• Summarize qualitative employee sentiment data to help HR leadership identify workplace trends
• Support HR Business Partners with basic documentation and action-item tracking
• Assist in auditing and updating HR records and resources for employees and managers
• Support seasonal HR initiatives, special projects, and programs as opportunities arise

What they're looking for:

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources or a related field
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance
