About this role
KB Signaling develops wayside and onboard signaling platforms and solutions for transit and freight railway systems. The Electrical Engineering Intern will support the development, testing, validation, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement of safety-critical electrical products while working with experienced engineers.
What you'll do:
- Assist in the testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems used in railroad safety-critical applications
- Support engineers in schematic reviews, PCB layout verification, and documentation aligned with industry safety standards
- Perform basic electrical measurements and diagnostics using lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
- Help maintain lab organization
- Participate in design reviews
- Document test procedures, results, and assist in preparing technical reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product safety, reliability, and maintainability
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, components, and safety procedures
- Interest in working with safety-critical systems and learning about regulatory standards
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and willingness to learn
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with lab tools and basic CAD or simulation software is a plus
