About this role

CHOC Children's provides pediatric healthcare through hospitals, clinics, and practices. The intern will support the MedTech project portfolio under the Director of Biostatistics by assisting with software builds, stakeholder engagement, digital health application development, and data-driven, culturally responsive technology initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in supporting specific software builds for projects across the health system
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand project goals, tasks, workflow, timelines, and desired outcomes
  • Engage with patients and families as needed, to support digital health application development and U/X design
  • Ensure MedTech is data-driven, culturally responsive, HIPPA compliant, has sufficient guardrails for a pediatric population, and is age appropriate
  • Perform other related tasks as needed

What they're looking for:

  • Required: Currently enrollment in college or university program, or Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree
  • Required: Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to maintain strict confidentiality; good interpersonal communication and listening skills; strong customer service skills; effective verbal and written communication
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction
  • Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher)
  • *Preferred Skills:* C++; Python, Java, Javascript, Typescript, Github, Git, HTML, CSS, React, React Native, Figma, API, MongoDB Atlas, AWS S3 Ionic, Angular, Assembly, SQL, Prolog, Lisp, Postman, Supabase
  • Preferred: Analytical skills necessary to assess facts/data and develop recommendations
  • Interpersonal communication skills required to work with a variety of personnel
  • Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS)
