About this role
Collins Aerospace develops advanced aerospace and defense solutions, including mission-critical communication systems. The Intern Systems Engineer will support the development and delivery of tactical communication solutions by creating and tracing requirements, developing system designs, and performing integration and testing in a cross-functional agile environment.
What you'll do:
- Perform in a cross-functional agile team
- Work in close coordination with a mentor using Collins Aerospace engineering processes
- Creation, decomposition, and tracing requirements for communications systems on military platforms, both air and ground applications
- Work with a model-based systems engineering application to create logical and physical design diagrams
- Perform integration and testing for these communications solutions
What they're looking for:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Requires active pursuit of a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Familiarity with RTX systems, processes, and tools
- Experience in systems engineering to include capturing customer requirements, operations concept development, or deriving and tracing system and sub-system requirements
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools such as Magic Draw Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or similar resources using SysML
- Experience working in an Agile environment and being part of highly integrated Agile teams working closely with multiple engineering development teams (SW, HW, Cyber, or Sys)
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
