Intern - Trading

Sunoco, L.P. is a fuel distribution and energy infrastructure company seeking an intern to support its supply and trading teams. The role involves analyzing fuel, expense, margin, pricing, and market data; managing business data; developing reports and monitoring tools; and supporting commercial projects across pricing, supply, logistics, trading, midstream, quality, and systems setup.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate daily with team members and executives to learn Sunoco’s Fuel Business. Develop metrics and provide reports for business optimization and monitoring; use analysis to help identify potential opportunities
• Assist with management of asset and customer data for integration of new business into Sunoco systems
• Meet and work with various team members to learn the ins and outs of corporate environment
• Review data, such as expenses, fuel margins and prices, to identify exceptions, report key metrics, and develop corrective actions
• Review fuel market data and help develop tools for analysis and monitoring
• Perform project work to support one or several of the following Commercial teams: Fuel Pricing, Fuel Supply, Logistics, Trading, Midstream, Quality, and Systems Setup

What they're looking for:

• This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2027. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Interest in commodity markets, logistics, or financial trading
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Excel (Power BI, Python, or SQL a plus)
