Internal Business Analyst (Operations, Process Improvement & Automation)

CompassX Group is a boutique business and technology consulting firm that helps Fortune 500 and high-growth clients deliver their strategic initiatives. They are seeking a motivated Internal Business Analyst to understand and improve internal processes across various teams, providing practical recommendations and implementing solutions.

What you'll do:

• Get hands-on across teams - Consulting Operations, Sales, Talent, and beyond - to genuinely understand how work moves before trying to change it
• Identify where processes are inefficient, inconsistent, or breaking down, and diagnose why
• Bring forward clear, practical recommendations for how to fix what's broken or slow
• Build and implement the fix yourself — whether that's a new process, a piece of documentation, or a lightweight automation
• Document how key processes work, so decisions and institutional knowledge don't live only in one person's head
• Partner with leadership and team leads across functions to understand priorities and turn them into real, working improvements
• Use CRM, spreadsheets, and lightweight automation/AI tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, Claude, Gemini, Google Apps Script) as needed to bring recommendations to life

What they're looking for:

• 1+ year of experience in operations, business analysis, process improvement, or a similar hands-on role - new grads strongly encouraged to apply
• A genuine curiosity for how things work, and the instinct to diagnose the root cause rather than just patch the symptom
• Comfortable using (or quickly learning) a CRM, spreadsheet tools, and lightweight automation/AI tools
• Excellent written communication - comfortable documenting processes clearly and presenting recommendations
• Highly organized, reliable, and detail-oriented - you like understanding systems and making them better
• A confident and diplomatic communicator - you'll be working across teams and leadership, tactfully and persistently
• Takes initiative without being asked, identifies opportunities, and moves work forward independently
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity, shifting priorities, and quickly learning new tools or approaches
• No ego about the work - you'll take on a genuine mix of tasks, from high-visibility process improvements to basic administrative work, and treat both with the same care
