Internship - Accounting/Finance (Year-Round)

Baird is a financial services firm whose Corporate Accounting and Finance team provides accurate and timely financial information to support management and strategic decision-making. The intern will assist with financial close activities, reporting, budgeting, operational presentations, policy documentation, intern training, and special projects while working full time during the summer and part time during the school year.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the monthly close process which may include journal entries, variance analysis, and reconciliations
• Compile financial information for internal and external reporting. May also assist in the budgeting process
• Prepare operational reports and presentations
• Maintain and document policies and procedures
• Assist with training of other interns
• Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

What they're looking for:

• This internship is located onsite at our downtown Milwaukee office
• The intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week, and work part time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week
• We are seeking a local student who can start as soon as April/May 2027
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related business degree
• Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet specific deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
