Internship – Capital Markets Compliance Data & Analytics (Year-Round)

Baird is a financial services firm whose Capital Markets Compliance team supports regulatory and policy functions across its Capital Markets businesses. The intern will design, develop, and test regulatory technology data solutions, collaborate with internal business partners, and create data solutions and visualizations to support Compliance and firmwide decision-making.

What you'll do:

• Work with internal business partners to understand how the data we provide impacts the greater decisions of both Compliance and Baird
• Gain exposure to critical business data problems that help drive decisions
• Actively participate in team meetings, discussions and special projects with internal business partners
• Create innovative data solutions and visualizations using SQL, Python and potentially PowerBI

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology management, business analytics or other related areas with a proven track record of academic excellence
• Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later
• Curiosity to understand the application of technology and data when solving business problems
• Superior organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and strong attention to detail while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of solutions
• Proactive approach with a high level of motivation, strategic thinking and a strong commitment to continuous learning
• Experience with Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• The intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week, and work part time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week
• We are seeking a student who can start in January 2027, or earlier if available
• Baird is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status
• Some financial market knowledge is preferred
